Worthy of Praise

I just finished reading my favorite (so far) book about divorce:  Clean Break:  How To Divorce With Dignity And Move On With Your Life. The book was written by Karen Stewart, Founder and CEO of Fairway Divorce Solutions Ltd. and it’s wonderful!!  Ms. Stewart endured a traditional divorce- the kind that is physically, emotionally and financially taxing, yet she’s taken her experience and turned it into an opportunity for others to have a better experience.   As she states in her introduction:

“If I can unveil a better way– one that is less costly, less time-consuming, less stressful; one that protects assets, children, parents self-esteem, and love; one that people not only embrace but come to demand– then there is hope for happiness and serenity where in the past the outlook was daunting and bleak.”

I first heard about Fairway Divorce Solutions when thumbing through a magazine about franchising opportunities.  Of course, I was intrigued (because I’ve spent a lot of time wishing I was a divorce attorney and an equal amount of time hating divorce attorneys)- but, as it turns out, if you want to open a franchise you need to have a background as a lawyer, a therapist or a financial planner… which makes perfect sense.  Unfortunately, I am none of those.  At least, not yet.  Anyway, I started surfing the web for more information.  I stumbled upon a few articles about the business and then I found the book.  And I’m so glad I did!  This might be one of those (like Storms Can’t Hurt The Sky) that I stock up on so I always have a copy to give away to a friend in need.

I highly recommend this book to anyone going through, or considering a divorce.  Kudos to Ms. Stewart for her intuitive innovation and to her clients for their commitment to a “SANE” process!
